Shovel in the hottest pallet logistics Nuggets

Tray: the shovel in the logistics nugget

in the streets of South Korea, the brush clip is aligned with and clamps the remaining hair bundles, and some KPP tray delivery and recycling trucks are often active, shuttling between customers and tray recycling stations. KPP is the most foreign and domestic pallet joint venture in South Korea, mainly engaged in pallet leasing. It has more than 2 million standard pallets and an efficient pallet recycling system. Its 330 employees provide 7 × 24-hour service. Every time you receive a notice from the customer, the point closest to the customer will be entrusted to deliver the pallet to the customer or recycle the pallet used by the customer. In this way, as soon as KPP customers' products are offline, they can be immediately attached to the rented pallet and directly reach the consumer. Compared with tray owners, KPP customers' products can realize "one-stop" circulation, which is very fast and economical. 2040 enterprises in petrochemical, food, textile, fertilizer, agricultural products and circulation industries in South Korea are enjoying this service. KPP sends and recycles about 60000 pallets every day. In 2001, the turnover is expected to reach 43billion won (about 34million US dollars) and the profit is 6.8 billion won (about 5million US dollars)

KPP, which has made a profit, began to show people the charm of pallet leasing. However, who can appreciate the hardships of 15 years behind this aura? It is said that KPP has been in the stage of loss or meager profit in the first 10 years of its establishment. Fortunately, with its own perseverance and the financial support of the government, the tray leasing business finally broke through the difficulties and went bright

not only in South Korea, but also in Japan, Europe and the United States, where the logistics industry is relatively developed, pallet leasing business has also been widely welcomed, and pallet leasing companies have begun to taste the fruits of a bumper harvest

the emergence of such a favorable market is inseparable from people's need to improve logistics efficiency. In the whole logistics process, products need to be stored, loaded, unloaded and transported before they can finally reach consumers. Among them, no link can be less than the tray. First, the products should be put into the packaging box and stacked on the pallet to form a containerized unit, and then placed on the shelf in the form of containerized unit. The loading and unloading of products should also be the cooperation between the container unit and the forklift. Of course, the container units of the products will eventually be filled with containers and arranged on the transportation equipment to reach the consumers

it can be seen from this series of logistics operations that pallets are the carrier of goods. If goods want to flow into the hands of final consumers, they must take the pallet car. Obviously, from the beginning to the end, if you take the through train, the efficiency will be much higher; If you have to transfer halfway, it must be time-consuming, laborious and uneconomical

pallet leasing makes "through train" a reality. However, there is no professional company providing this kind of service in China's logistics industry chain. Moreover, we often see the following situations:

one of the scenes is that in the warehouse of a logistics center, a group of stevedores are laboriously unloading the packaging boxes one by one from the pallet and moving them to a truck that is about to leave

lens 2: on the idle space of a factory, several stacks of abandoned pallets are piled there alone, some of which have been rusted, some of which have been soaked by rain, giving off an unpleasant smell

such shots are constantly taking place in every corner. The waste and low efficiency caused by pallet will undoubtedly greatly reduce the overall operation efficiency of logistics

the main reason for this situation is the "privatization" of pallets. Because the pallets are owned by the enterprise, the goods have to be transferred from the pallets of the upper family owner to the pallets of the lower family owner in the process of transshipment. If the pallet goes with the goods, the use of the pallet is one-time, and the end user will bear the invalid pallet cost, and after the goods are used up, the pallet will be discarded

there are mainly two ways to solve this kind of problem: pallet exchange or recycling

pallet exchange generally occurs during transfer. The receiver of the goods needs to take out the same number of empty pallets with the same size in exchange for the pallets loaded by the sender. But this model hides a certain degree of unfairness. Because the receiving enterprise is likely to take the pallet that is about to break down to top up, the quality of the pallet in circulation cannot be guaranteed, which increases the potential safety hazards. Therefore, this method is not the best policy

tray recycling is a relatively effective method at present. After running through the logistics, the pallets eventually flow to the local recycle bin. Obviously, pallet leasing is a better choice to achieve recycling. At present, a number of successful leasing companies have emerged abroad, such as Japan pallet Leasing Corporation (JPR) and South Korea's KPP. They set up business points all over the country, and product manufacturers rent pallets from local rental points and pay rent on a daily basis when delivering goods; After the logistics operation is completed, the user returns the empty pallet to the recycle bin on site. Each recycle bin is equipped with maintenance personnel, and the tray maintenance is very timely. The repaired tray can quickly return to the logistics circulation, and the utilization rate is very high

the realization of pallet recycling or exchange largely depends on the standardization of pallet size. The higher the degree of standardization, the greater the versatility of pallets, and the more conducive to recycling or exchange

however, standardization of pallets is not easy. Many countries in the world have their own pallet standards, which are important suppliers in the field of domestic modified plastics for automobiles, but no country has a degree of standardization of more than 30%

as pallets play a key role in logistics operations, shelves, packaging boxes and transportation equipment should be designed based on them. Therefore, any modification of it will affect the whole body. Therefore, when formulating tray standards, we should consider them comprehensively

according to Professor wuqingyi of the Logistics Research Institute of Beijing University of science and technology, the current international standard for pallets has four sizes: 1200mm × 1000mm,800mm × 1200mm,1140mm × 1140mm, 40 inches × 48 inches. The first two are commonly used standards in Europe, the third is Australian standards, and the last is American standards. In the spring of 2001, the ISO tray Committee proposed a standard revision: adding 1100mm in Japan × 1100mm and 44 inches in Europe and America × 44 inches. The new standard is expected to be approved by the end of the year

China's pallet standards have all accepted the four sizes of the existing international standards. Professor Wu thinks this is unreasonable. He cited the British standard in the United States as an example, which is difficult to implement in China. He believes that it is of little significance to promote pallet standardization and establish a pallet sharing system when trading with distant countries such as Europe and the United States. This kind of long-distance logistics operation, disposable pallet is the best policy. For short distance, specific to domestic and surrounding areas and countries, we should consider establishing a pallet sharing system. At present, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan have jointly established an Asian pallet joint venture system

Professor Wu believes that after the implementation of the new international standards, China's standards should also be revised

at present, 1000mm in China × 1200mm pallets are widely used, while 1100mm pallets are widely used in other countries in Asia × 1100mm。 Professor Wu believes that China's standards should be selected from these two specifications. Considering that the number of pallets in China is not very large, such as PPR pipe ring stiffness testing machine, and focusing on the Asian pallet alliance, Professor Wu tends to choose 1100mm × 1100mm。

at present, there is no company operating pallet leasing business in China. This is related to the small number of pallet users and the non standardization of pallets. The promotion of standardization requires the cooperation of all parties, especially the cooperation and financial support of relevant government departments. Therefore, pallet leasing company is not a simple enterprise behavior, at least not at the beginning of its launch. From KPP's experience, pallet leasing has a gradual development process, and the leasing company was unprofitable in the first few years of its establishment. In addition, the business sites of leasing companies must cover the whole country, so its start-up capital is not a small amount. However, in the long run, once a large-scale operation is formed, it will certainly have a lot of profits and broad prospects. (Peter)
